Visiting Scholars Program Awardee 2026 – Dr. Weizi Wu

The Music4Pain Research Network is pleased to welcome Dr. Weizi Wu, Postdoctoral Associate at the Yale School of Nursing, as a 2026 Visiting Scholar.

Dr. Wu’s research focuses on the biobehavioral mechanisms of chronic pain and the development of precision, music-based interventions for symptom management. During her training at the Placebo Beyond Opinions Center at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, under the mentorship of Dr. Luana Colloca, she will explore the central neurobiological mechanisms of music analgesia, including placebo effects, virtual reality, and endogenous pain modulation.

This training will support Dr. Wu’s ongoing work integrating wearable technologies, multi-omics, and music-based interventions to advance personalized approaches to pain management. The experience will also contribute to the development of future grant proposals and collaborative research focused on the biological mechanisms underlying music for pain.
